Bobby Farrell & Joey Bailey pick up TDR Modified victories

Thursday night TDR’s Modified Tour featured a double points double header night! First up on the docket was a trip to Langley, Virginia’s Langley Speedway for a 70 lap main event. Using the potluck lotto start method found Doug Lockrow leading the field to green.Slippery track conditions around the tough .4 tenths mile would result in 7 yellow flags. Joey Bailey would go on to dominate the race leading 42 of the 70 laps. Joey along with John Wall set a blistering pace leaving the rest of the field playing catchup all evening. A late race spin bt the #45 of John Wall would eliminate his chances of winning late. The events last restart saw plenty of fireworks as some contact racing for the lead would result in a pileup ensuing a mad dash through to the yellow and checkered flag. #43 Bobby Farrell led the drag race to the line to pick up his first series victory!

To finish up the night the series took a trip to the northeast. With Riverhead Raceway unavailable the decision was made to take the trip to the north of Long Island Sound and visit the New London Waterford Speedbowl for the Mr. Rooter 70. The lotto start put early favorite #45 John Wall on the pole and he would spend the first 27 laps up front. The field would find its way to pit road after the #4 of Phil LaCasse would bring out the caution bringing the majority of the field to pit road. Joey Bailey would roll the dice and take the top spot and would not relinquish it for the remainder of the event winning in dominate fashion. John Wall brought the #45 home second. The most entertaining racing of the night was for 3rd on back as LaCasse, Jamie Tedder, and Doug Lockrow would battle lose feeling cars often resulting a belly laughing slide by slide action! Bobby Farrell’s strong evening continued with a great 3rd place finish vaulting him to 2nd in the standings 4 points behind series leader Robert Baucom who was unable to compete this week.
The Series enjoys an off week next week as short track action to TDR on 7/19 at New Hampshire at 11pm EST
